2024 SNP Leadership Election
The 2024 Scottish National Party leadership election took place to choose the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) following the resignation of Humza Yousaf on 29 April 2024, amid 2024 Scottish government crisis, a government crisis. Humza Yousaf
Humza Haroon Yousaf (; born 7 April 1985) is a Scottish politician who served as First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) from March 2023 to May 2024. He served under his predecessor Nicola Sturgeon as Scottish Justice Secretary, justice secretary from 2018 to 2021 and then as Scottish Health Secretary, health secretary from 2021 to 2023. He has been Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Glasgow Pollok (Scottish Parliament constituency), Glasgow Pollok since 2016, having previously been a Scottish Parliament constituencies and electoral regions, regional MSP for Glasgow (Scottish Parliament electoral region), Glasgow from 2011 to 2016.
