2024 Oregon Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Oregon on November 5, 2024. Primary elections were held on May 21, 2024. In the early hours of October 28 an incendiary device was placed in a ballot drop box in Portland damaging 3 ballots. Federal President United States House of Representatives All six of Oregon's seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for re-election in 2024. These seats were represented by four Democrats and two Republicans prior to the election. In Oregon's 5th district, Democratic state representative Janelle Bynum defeated incumbent Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer, flipping the district. Democratic state representative Maxine Dexter was elected to Oregon's 3rd district, replacing retiring Democratic representative Earl Blumenauer. Tina Kotek
Christine Kotek ( ; born September 30, 1966) is an American politician serving as the 39th governor of Oregon since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Kotek served eight terms as the state representative from the 44th district in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2007 to 2022, as majority leader of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013, and as Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2013 to 2022. She won the 2022 Oregon gubernatorial election, defeating Republican nominee Christine Drazan and independent candidate Betsy Johnson. Dan Rayfield
Daniel Adam Rayfield (born March 1, 1979) is an American politician and attorney who is the 18th Attorney General of the State of Oregon since 2024 after his predecessor Ellen Rosenblum resigned a week before her term expired. He was the former speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2022 to 2024. In the House, he represented the 16th district, which included Corvallis and Adair Village. Oregon Court Of Appeals
The Oregon Court of Appeals is the state intermediate appellate court in the US state of Oregon. Part of the Oregon Judicial Department, it has thirteen judges and is located in Salem. Except for death penalty cases, which are reserved to the Oregon Supreme Court, and tax court cases, it has jurisdiction to hear all civil and criminal appeals from Oregon circuit courts, and to review actions of most state administrative agencies. The 13 judges of the court are chosen by the people in statewide nonpartisan elections to six-year terms, and have as their administrative head a Chief Judge appointed from their number by the Chief Justice of the state Supreme Court. Ellen Rosenblum
Ellen F. Rosenblum (born January 6, 1951) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 17th Oregon Attorney General from June 2012 to December 2024. She is the first female state attorney general in Oregon's history, and previously was a judge on the Oregon Court of Appeals from 2005 to 2011. Early life Rosenblum was born in Berkeley, California, one of eight children of Jewish parents Victor and Louise Rosenblum. The family moved to Evanston, Illinois, where her father was a law professor at Northwestern University for 40 years; he was also president of Reed College from 1968 to 1970. The Pacific Green Party of Oregon (PGP) is a left-wing political party in the U.S. state of Oregon, recognized by the Oregon Secretary of State. The Oregon Progressive Party (OPP) is a progressive political party in Oregon. OPP formed in 2007 as the Oregon Peace Party. Dennis Linthicum (born 1956) is an American politician who served in the Oregon Senate from 2017 until 2025. He is a member of the Republican Party.
