2024 Moscow City Duma Election
The 2024 Moscow City Duma election took place on 6–8 September 2024, on 2024 Russian elections, common election day. All 45 seats in the City Duma were up for reelection. United Russia won a resounding victory in the election, winning 38 seats and doubling its faction, after standing its candidates as Independent politician, Independents last cycle. Other parties represented in the Moscow City Duma, including Communist Party of the Russian Federation and A Just Russia – For Truth, suffered heavy losses with Yabloko losing its entire four-member delegation after failing to collect enough signatures for any of its candidates (including two incumbents). New People (political party), New People entered the Duma for the first time with a single deputy. While Liberal Democratic Party of Russia failed to win any seat on their own, two LDPR-aligned Independents got elected (although both were members of United Russia at the time of the election). Percentage Point
A percentage point or percent point is the unit (measurement), unit for the difference (mathematics), arithmetic difference between two percentages. The Russian United Democratic Party Yabloko (RUDP Yabloko; rus, Росси́йская объединённая демократи́ческая па́ртия «Я́блоко», Rossiyskaya obyedinyonnaya demokraticheskaya partiya "Yabloko", ˈjabɫəkə, ru-яблоко.ogg, ) is a social-liberal political party in Russia. The State Duma is the lower house of the Federal Assembly (Russia), Federal Assembly of Russia, with the upper house being the Federation Council (Russia), Federation Council. By-elections To The 7th Moscow City Duma
By-elections to the 7th Moscow City Duma are held to fill vacancies in the Russian regional parliament between the 2019 election and the 2024 election. According to article 82 of the Moscow Electoral Code, by-elections are appointed by the Moscow Electoral Commission. By-elections are not appointed and are not held if, as a result of these elections, a Deputy cannot be elected for a term of more than one year before the end of the constitutional term for which the Moscow City Duma was elected. Moscow City Duma District 37 is one of 45 constituencies in Moscow City Duma. Currently the district covers outer New Moscow, including all of Troitsky Administrative Okrug and parts of Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug. Smart Voting () is a tactical voting strategy put forward by the team of Alexei Navalny with the aim of depriving the ruling United Russia party of votes in regional and federal elections.
