2024 Monterrey Open
The 2024 Monterrey Open (also known as the Abierto GNP Seguros for sponsorship reasons) was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 16th edition of the Monterrey Open and a WTA 500 tournament on the 2024 WTA Tour (upgraded from WTA 250 status in previous years). WTA 500 Tournaments
WTA 500 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. At their introduction in 2021, WTA 500 tournaments' prize money was approximately $500,000. Since then, prize money awarded by WTA 500 events has grown less uniform, with one tournament's prize money rising to as much as $1.5 million. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 500. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 250 for winning a WTA 250 tournament. Anastasia Sergeyevna "Nastia" Pavlyuchenkova (; born 3 July 1991) is a Russian professional tennis player. She reached a career-high singles WTA rankings, ranking of world No. 11 on 8 November 2021. Pavlyuchenkova has won twelve singles titles on the WTA Tour, and contested a Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major final at the 2021 French Open – Women's singles, 2021 French Open. Caroline Dolehide ( ; born September 5, 1998) is an American professional tennis player. She achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 41 on 2 October 2023 and a doubles ranking of No. 9 on 26 August 2024. Dolehide has won two WTA Tour and one WTA 125 doubles titles, and also 17 titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, eight in singles and nine in doubles. Lina Glushko (; born 12 January 2000) is an Israeli tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of world No. 201 in singles and No. 296 in doubles. She also represents Israel in the Billie Jean King Cup, where she has a win–loss record of 17–15 (as of June 2024). Carol Zhao (born June 20, 1995) is a Chinese-Canadian tennis player. She reached her highest WTA singles ranking of No. 131 in June 2018, and her career-high junior rank of No. 9 on January 1, 2013. She won the Australian Open junior doubles title in 2013.
