2024 Meeting De Paris
The 2024 Meeting de Paris was the 29th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Paris, France. Though held in the same city as the 2024 Summer Olympics, the meeting was not held at the Olympic stadium track, the Stade de France. Held on 7 July at the Stade Sébastien Charléty, it was the eighth leg of the 2024 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. This was the fifth time the meeting was held on the stadium's renovated blue running track. Highlights At the meeting, two world records were broken in the women's high jump (by Yaroslava Mahuchikh) and women's 1500 m (by Faith Kipyegon). Stade Sébastien Charléty
Stade Sébastien-Charléty (; ), also known as Stade Charléty or Charléty, is a multi-purpose stadium located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. Comprising a running track and a football field, the stadium is a 20,000-seat state-owned venue used for numerous sports and events. It is also the current home ground of the rugby union team of Paris Université Club, who operate the venue, and the association football clubs Paris FC and Paris 13 Atletico. 2024 Athletics Kenya Olympic Trials
The 2024 Athletics Kenya Olympic Trials was an athletics meeting held by Athletics Kenya to select the Kenyan team in athletics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. The meeting was held June 14–15, 2024 in Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. Unlike other countries' trials, the 2024 Kenyan trials did not also serve as that year's national championshipsa separate Kenyan Athletics Championships was held earlier in May 2024. The top two qualified athletes per event were to be guaranteed Olympic team spots, and if there were multiple options for a third qualified athlete in any event, they were chosen via committee. Aaron Kemei Cheminingwa (born 21 June 1998) is a Kenyan middle distance runner. He won the gold medal at the 2023 African Games in the 800 metres. Career In the 2020s, he began to be coached by Alex Sang, whose other athletes include Kenyan 800 metres world champion Mary Moraa. He ran a 800 metres personal best time of 1:44.24 at the National Stadium, Nairobi on 6 March 2024. Cheminingwa then won gold in the 800 metres at the 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana on 20 March 2024. It was his debut run in a Kenyan vest, and he became the first Kenyan to win that distance at the games since Japheth Kimutai in 1999.
