2024 Losail Formula 2 Round
The 2024 Lusail FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 29 November and 1 December 2024 and was the first time Formula 2 raced at the Lusail International Circuit, Lusail, Qatar. It was the penultimate round of the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix. Driver Changes Four drivers left the Formula 2 grid ahead of the Lusail round. Juan Manuel Correa left DAMS Lucas Oil and was replaced by Ferrari junior Dino Beganovic, who finished the F3 championship in sixth position. Dennis Hauger was confirmed to join Andretti Global for the 2025 Indy NXT season and decided to leave MP Motorsport for the last two rounds of the season to focus on next year. Richard Verschoor, who has driven for MP Motorsport in previous seasons, returned to the team to replace Hauger until the end of next season. The Lusail International Circuit (, sometimes rendered Losail International Circuit) is a motor racing circuit located just outside the city of Lusail, north of Doha, Qatar. 2024 Qatar Grand Prix
The 2024 Qatar Grand Prix (officially known as the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2024) was a Formula One motor race held on 1 December 2024 at the Lusail International Circuit in Lusail, Qatar. It was the twenty-third and penultimate round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship and the sixth and final Grand Prix weekend of the season to utilise the sprint format. Lando Norris of McLaren took pole position for the sprint event, and then ceded position to his teammate Oscar Piastri in the closing lap of the sprint. Piastri won his second sprint race ahead of Norris and  George Russell of Mercedes; the latter took pole position for the main race after Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing, who set the fastest time in qualifying, was demoted a position due to driving slowly during qualifying. Cian Shields (born 7 March 2005) is a British and Irish racing driver from Scotland who competes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for AIX Racing. Maxwell Esterson (born October 9, 2002) is an American racing driver and esports driver, who competes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Trident. He previously competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport and in the GB3 Championship with Fortec Motorsports. He is also a former Red Bull Junior Team member.
