2024 Japan Series
The 2024 was the championship series of Nippon Professional Baseball's (NPB) season. The 75th edition of the Japan Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of the Central League (CL) and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Pacific League (PL). The series began on October 26 and ended on November 3 with the BayStars winning in six games. It was the BayStars' first Japan Series appearance and win since 2017 and 1998 respectively, and the Hawks' first Japan Series appearance since 2020. The Hawks were the best team in NPB all season and won the PL title, which advanced them directly to the final stage of the 2024 Pacific League Climax Series, PL Climax Series where they swept the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters to advance to the Japan Series. Hiroki Kokubo
is a Japanese former professional baseball infielder, and current the second squad manager for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He previously played for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks, Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, the Yomiuri Giants, and had 2,000 hits. Early baseball career Kokubo went on to Aoyama Gakuin University, where he became captain and helped his team win its first 1993 Japan National Collegiate Baseball Championship in his senior year. is a Japanese professional baseball player for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Toshiya Sugiuchi
is a Japanese baseball player. He is a left-handed starting pitcher for the Yomiuri Giants. Sugiuchi was the Eiji Sawamura Award winner in . He has had some of the most international experience of any active Japanese baseball player, pitching in the 2000 Sydney and 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classics.
