2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election
The 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election was held on 27 November 2024 to elect both the Governor of Jakarta, governor and Vice Governor of Jakarta, vice governor of Jakarta for the 2025 to 2030 term. The election was held as part of 2024 Indonesian local elections, local elections for governors, regents, and mayors across 36 other provinces in Indonesia. The election, originally scheduled for 2022, was postponed for two years following a 2016 ruling by the General Elections Commission that all 2024 regional elections are to be held on the same day. As a result, when the then-elected governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, completed his term on 16 October 2022, Heru Budi Hartono was appointed acting governor. On 18 October 2024, Joko Widodo, President Joko Widodo appointed Teguh Setyabudi as acting governor of Jakarta, replacing Heru Budi Hartono. Percentage Points
A percentage point or percent point is the unit for the arithmetic difference between two percentages. Gerindra Party
The Gerindra Party (acronym for , ) is a political party in Indonesia. Formed in 2008, Gerindra serves as the political vehicle of former general Prabowo Subianto. It is presently the third-largest party in the House of Representatives, where it has 78 seats. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama
Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (, Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: ''Chûng Van-ho̍k''; born 29 June 1966) is an Indonesian businessman, politician, and former governor of Jakarta. He is also known by his Hakka Chinese nickname Ahok (). He was the second minority governor of Jakarta with Chinese ancestry and also of the Evangelical faith, following Henk Ngantung, who was governor of Catholic faith from 1964–65. Labour Party (Indonesia, 2021)
The Labour Party ( id, Partai Buruh) is a political party in Indonesia founded on 5 October 2021. The party was reformed from and is a continuation of the defunct Labour Party (Indonesia, 1998), 1998 Labour Party founded by Muchtar Pakpahan. The party formed after the 4th Labour Party congress on 4-5 October in Jakarta. The party has espoused a somewhat stronger left-wing foundation compared to the original Labour Party and is described as "pro-labourer and pro-worker". It is partly funded by media baron Surya Paloh who founded the similarly named organization, National Democrats ( id, Nasional Demokrat).
