The 2024 Israeli protests are a series of political demonstration, demonstrations, instances of civil disorder, and riots against Prime Minister of Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Thirty-seventh government of Israel, his government, primarily sparked by the Israel–Hamas war and the Israel–Hamas war hostage crisis, hostage crisis. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum (Hebrew: מטה המשפחות להחזרת החטופים והנעדרים) is a body established by the families of the abductees who were kidnapped to Gaza as part of the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, and by the families of the missing persons as a result of this attack. The forum aims to return the abductees from Gaza, to locate those missing from the attack, and to handle medical, legal and other matters related to the abduction and its consequences. Otzma Yehudit
Otzma Yehudit ( he, עָצְמָה יְהוּדִית, , Jewish Strength', or 'Jewish Power) is a far-right political party in Israel, which has been referred to as Kahanist and anti-Arab. It was originally formed as Otzma LeYisrael (; lit., ''Strength for Israel''), which was established on 13 November 2012 by MKs Aryeh Eldad and Michael Ben-Ari, who split from the National Union to form a new party ahead of the 2013 elections. Otzma Yehudit is the ideological descendant of the outlawed Kach party. Likud ( he, הַלִּיכּוּד, HaLikud, The Consolidation), officially known as Likud – National Liberal Movement, is a major centre-right to right-wing political party in Israel. It was founded in 1973 by Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon in an alliance with several right-wing parties. Likud's landslide victory in the 1977 elections was a major turning point in the country's political history, marking the first time the left had lost power. Founded by Yair Lapid in 2012, it seeks to represent what it considers the centre of Israeli society: the secular middle class. Standing Together (Hebrew: עומדים ביחד, '' Omdim Beyachad''; , ''Naqif Ma'an'') is an Israeli grassroots movement that aims to bring together Arab-Israeli and Jewish-Israeli communities. It is the largest Arab-Jewish grassroots movement in the country. Standing Together first became active in 2015, and has about 5,300 members as of April 2024. Brothers and Sisters in Arms (), also known as Achim Laneshek and Brothers in Arms (), is an organization of reserve men and women from various units of the IDF, operating within the protest movement against the judicial reforms promoted by the thirty-seventh government of Israel headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On October 7, 2023, the day Hamas invaded southern Israel, the organization suspended all political and protest activities and began devoting itself full-time to aid and relief under the name Brothers and Sisters for Israel.
