2024 Israeli Chief Rabbi Elections
Elections for Chief Rabbinate of Israel, Chief Rabbis of Israel were held in Jerusalem in 2024. The elections were initially scheduled for 2023, however they were delayed multiple times. Yehuda Deri
Yehuda Deri (; 31 July 1957 – 9 July 2024) was an Israeli rabbi, member of the Chief Rabbinical Council of Israel, and the Chief Rabbi of Beersheba from 1997. In 2013, he was a candidate for Chief Rabbi of Israel. He was also a past candidate for Chief Rabbi for Jerusalem and for Tel Aviv. 2024 Elections In Israel
4 (four) is a number, numeral and digit. It is the natural number following 3 and preceding 5. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Yosef Family
The Yosef family is an Israeli family noted for prominent Mizrahi Rabbis, and for its involvement in Israeli politics through the Shas political party. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1973-1983 and founder of Shas, was considered the pre-eminent leader of Mizrahi Jews during and after his lifetime. David Baruch Lau (; born 13 January 1966) is an Israeli rabbi who served as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel from 2013 to 2024. Yitzhak Yosef
Yitzhak Yosef (; born ) is an Israeli Haredi rabbi. The former Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, he also serves as the rosh yeshiva of in Jerusalem's Romema neighborhood. Since the end of his term as Chief Rabbi, he joined the rabbinic leadership council of the Shas party. 2024 Israeli Municipal Elections
Municipal elections in Israel took place on 27 February 2024 amidst the ongoing Gaza war. In accordance with changes made in 2018, election day will be a paid day off work. All municipalities, local councils and regional councils will be up for election, as will their leaders. Top-two runoffs will be held in all localities where no leadership candidate won 40% or more of the vote in the first round. Voters in municipalities and local councils choose their leader and council in two separate ballots that are colored yellow and white respectively. Voters in regional councils also vote for a local committee using ballots that are colored blue. Blue ballots are also used for borough committees in cases in which they exist. All elected councilors and council leaders assume office 21 days after the election.
