Group B was one of two groups of the 2024 IIHF World Championship. The four best-placed teams advanced to the playoff round, while the last placed team was relegated to Division I in 2025. The 2024 IIHF World Championship will be hosted by Czechia from 10 to 26 May 2024. This decision was made at the semi-annual International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) congress. Yasin Ehliz (born 30 December 1992) is a German professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for EHC Red Bull München of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career A product of Tölzer Löwen, Ehliz moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the German Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in 2010. He played for the Ice Tigers in the DEL until 2018 before on 11 June 2018, he signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). For Calgary's AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat, he appeared in four games in the early stages of the 2018–19 season. In early November 2018, he was placed on unconditional waivers. Marcus Lars Johansson (born 6 October 1990) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League. He was selected by the Washington Capitals in the first round, 24th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In 2008–09, Johansson was part of the Färjestad BK team that became Swedish champions. Tim Heed (born January 27, 1991) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the National League (NL). Heed was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks 132nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Heed was a product of Södertälje SK and made his debut in the top-tier Swedish Hockey League (SHL) with the club during the 2009–10 season. Joel Eriksson Ek (last name sometimes stylized as Eriksson-Ek, born 29 January 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Alexander Augustus Lyon (born December 9, 1992) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). OSTRAVAR Aréna (previously ČEZ Aréna, due to sponsorship reasons) is an indoor arena used mainly for ice hockey matches, in Vítkovice, Ostrava, Czech Republic.
