The 2024 IIHF World Championship will be hosted by Czechia from 10 to 26 May 2024. This decision was made at the semi-annual International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) congress. Andres Ambühl
Andres Ambühl (born 14 September 1983) is a Swiss professional ice hockey forward who currently serves as captain of HC Davos of the National League (NL). He has won six Swiss NL championships, two Spengler Cups with HC Davos, and a silver medal with Switzerland at the 2013 World Championship. Ambühl also represented Switzerland at the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. He holds the records for the most top-division appearances (18) and top-division games played (131) in World Championship history. Playing career Ambühl began playing junior hockey in the HC Davos organization with the club's junior team. In 2000–01, he scored 41 points in 31 games as a junior and debuted in three games with Davos in the NLA. Jakub Krejčík
Jakub Krejčík (born June 25, 1991) is a Czech professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Playing career Krejčík first played with HC Slavia Praha in the Czech Extraliga during the 2010–11 season, and later moved to the Swedish Hockey League with Örebro HK. On 8 May 2020, Krejčík was signed to a two-year contract to join Finnish KHL club, Jokerit, starting from the 2020–21 season. On 14 July 2021, Krejčík and Jokerit mutually agreed to a contract termination. He was later signed to continue in the KHL with HC Dinamo Minsk on a one-year contract on 20 August 2021. Ondřej Kaše (born 8 November 1995) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Kase was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round, 205th overall during the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Harri Säteri
Harri Säteri (born 29 December 1989) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender, currently playing with EHC Biel in the National League (NL). Although drafted in 2008 by the San Jose Sharks, he did not play in an NHL game until nearly a decade later as a member of the Florida Panthers. Playing career Säteri's first full season at the senior level was 2008–09, when he played in 22 matches for Tappara in the SM-liiga. Lukáš Dostál (born 22 June 2000) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Ducks in the third round, 85th overall, of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Early life Dostál was born on 22 June 2000 in Brno, Czech Republic, to parents Martin and Renata. Overtime is a method of determining a winner in an ice hockey game when the score is tied after regulation. The main methods of determining a winner in a tied game are the overtime period (commonly referred to as overtime), the shootout, or a combination of both. Mats André Zuccarello Aasen (born 1 September 1987) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey winger for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Michael Brandsegg-Nygård (born October 5, 2005) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey forward for Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), as a prospect for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Johannes Johannesen (born 1 March 1997) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently signed with Västerviks IK of the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Playing career Johannesen hails from Stavanger and made his debut for his hometown team, the Stavanger Oilers, in the Norway's top-tier Get Ligaen in the course of the 2014–15 season.
