2024 Houston Dash Season
The 2024 Houston Dash season is the team's eleventh season as an American professional women's soccer team in the National Women's Soccer League. Season Pre-season Immediately following the 2023 Houston Dash season, Houston Dash started their preparation for the 2024 NWSL Season. On November 20, 2023, the Dash announced their roster decisions headed into the 2024 season. Houston exercised contract options on Emily Alvarado, Madelyn Desiano, Jyllissa Harris, Sophie Hirst, Savannah Madden, Bárbara Olivieri, Sarah Puntigam, Cameron Tucker and Paulina Gramaglia, who will stay on loan for the 2024 season. The club will also exercise the option for Allysha Chapman, who is on maternity leave at the time of the announcement.Lindsi Jennings' option was not picked up. Joelle Anderson is out of contract. The Houston Dash is a professional Women's association football, women's soccer team based in Houston, Texas. It joined the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the 2014 National Women's Soccer League season, 2014 season, and is affiliated with the MLS team Houston Dynamo, Houston Dynamo FC. History Establishment On November 19, 2013, the Houston Dynamo began talks in the initial stages with the intention of bringing a top flight women's professional soccer franchise to Houston. Just a week later, the effort was bolstered when the Dynamo began accepting refundable deposits for a potential NWSL expansion team. Sophie Hirst
Sophie Hirst (born February 25, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Portland Thorns FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Harvard Crimson. Early life Hirst was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, where she attended Seattle Prep for high school. With Seattle Prep, Hirst played as a forward and helped the soccer team win the 2015 state championship, where she was named the MVP of the tournament. She was a three-year letterwinner for her school. María Sánchez (footballer)
María Guadalupe Sánchez Morales (born 20 February 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for the San Diego Wave of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Born in the United States, she represents Mexico at international level. Sánchez played American collegiate soccer at Idaho State University before leaving in April 2016. She subsequently concluded her collegiate career at Santa Clara University in 2018. Emily Curran
Emily Helena Curran (; born August 5, 1996) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She previously played for Portland Thorns FC in the NWSL and the Penn State women's soccer team in college. Curran is a former United States youth international, and she was nominated for the 2016 U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year award. Shea Groom
Shea Ellese Groom (born March 4, 1993) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League. Groom played collegiate soccer for Texas A&M Aggies before starting her professional career with FC Kansas City in 2015. She was traded to Sky Blue FC after FC Kansas City ceased operations in 2018, before joining Seattle Reign FC in 2019. She is currently a member of the Houston Dash. Caprice Ka'anohikula Dydasco (born August 19, 1993) is an American soccer defender who plays as an right back for the Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League. Devon Angela Kerr (born July 3, 1997) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper.
