2024 Hard Rock Bet 200
The 2024 Hard Rock Bet 200 was the first stock car race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 61st running of the event. The race was originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, but due to the forecasted inclement weather for Saturday, the race was moved up to Friday, February 16, immediately following the NASCAR Truck Series race on the same day. The race was held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, a 2.5 mile (4 km) permanent tri-oval shaped asphalt superspeedway. The race was originally scheduled to be contested over 80 laps, but was extended to 84 laps due to a NASCAR overtime finish. In a wild and wreck-filled race, Gus Dean, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would hold off the field in a one lap restart, and won the race after a vicious crash occurred on the final lap. Gus Dean
August H. Dean (born August 19, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver who last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving the No. 15 Ford Mustang for AM Racing and in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 55 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports. He previously drove in the series for Win-Tron Racing full-time in 2017 and 2018 and part-time in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Dean also drove for Mason Mitchell Motorsports part-time in ARCA in 2016, winning General Tire 200 (Talladega), the race at Talladega that year. Jeff McClure
Jeffrey McClure (born January 22, 1967) is an American former stock car racing driver who raced for multiple years in all three major NASCAR series as well as what is now the ARCA Menards Series. McClure has been involved in the ARCA after his driving days are over, working as a team owner and most recently as a crew chief. Racing career Driving career McClure made his Busch debut in 1988, running his own No. 83 Oldsmobile in four races. His series debut came at Nazareth, falling out due to an engine failure. McClure's finishes improved drastically every race and by the race at Langley, McClure earned his best finish of the year in 18th. Also, his best start of the year ended up 12th at Myrtle Beach.
