2024 Global Super League
The 2024 Global Super League was the inaugural edition of the Global Super League. The tournament featured five teams from different countries that played 11 matches from 26 November to 6 December 2024. All matches were played at Providence Stadium in Providence, Guyana. In the final Rangpur Riders defeated Cricket Victoria by 56 runs to win the title. Background and format The Global Super League is an invitational cricket tournament, organised by Cricket West Indies. Five teams played against each other in a round-robin stage with the top two teams advancing to the final. Cricket West Indies
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly Commonwealth Caribbean, English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. Caribbean Premier League
The Caribbean Premier League (abbreviated to CPL or CPLT20) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. It was founded by Cricket West Indies in 2013 to replace the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. It is currently sponsored by Republic Bank Limited and consequently officially named the Republic Bank CPL. The inaugural tournament was won by the Jamaica Tallawahs who defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. The Sheffield Shield is the domestic first-class cricket competition of Australia. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia. Nurul Hasan Sohan (; born 21 November 1993) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who represents Bangladesh on the international stage in all formats. Sohan is well known in Bangladesh for his keeping skills and great flexibility. Sohan is a wicket-keeper batter and plays as a right-handed batter lower down the order. Mickey Arthur
John Michael Arthur (born 17 May 1968) is a South African-Australian cricket coach, commentator and former cricketer, who played in South African domestic cricket from 1986 to 2001. He has served as the head coach of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club since November 2021. He coached the South African national team from 2005 to 2010, was the coach of the Australia national cricket team from 2010 until his sacking in June 2013 (then to be replaced by Darren Lehmann) and was the coach of the Pakistan cricket team from 2016 to 2019. Bangladesh Premier League (), also known as Dutch-Bangla Bank BPL for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Darren Gough
Darren Gough (born 18 September 1970) is a retired English cricketer and former captain of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The spearhead of England's bowling attack through much of the 1990s, he is England's second highest wicket-taker in one-day internationals with 235, and took 229 wickets in his 58 Test matches, making him England's ninth-most-successful wicket-taker. The Pakistan Super League (PSL), also known as HBL PSL for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Pakistan, organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Founded by the PCB in 2015, the league features six city-based franchise teams. Instead of operating as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by the investors. Lahore Qalandars is a Pakistani professional cricket franchise which plays in the Pakistan Super League, representing Lahore, the capital of Punjab. Christopher Philip Wood (born 27 June 1990) is an English first-class cricketer. He currently plays for Hampshire. Wood is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm medium pace. Adrian Birrell
Adrian Victor "Adi" Birrell (born 8 December 1960 in Grahamstown, Cape Province) is a South African cricket coach and former first class cricketer. A leg break bowler, Birrell took 75 wickets at 30.16 in his career for Eastern Province, before turning to coaching. He was educated at St Andrew's College in Grahamstown. He led Ireland in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup where they reached the Super Eight Stage. In the tournament they beat two Test nations, Bangladesh and Pakistan as well as achieving a tie against Zimbabwe.
