2024 General Tire 200 (Talladega)
The 2024 General Tire 200 was the 3rd stock car race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 62nd running of the event. The race was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama, a 2.66 mile (4.28 km) permanent quad-oval shaped asphalt superspeedway. The race took the scheduled 76 laps to complete. Jake Finch, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would find redemption from Daytona, and put on a blistering performance, leading every lap of the race to earn his first career ARCA Menards Series win. It was the first Talladega race in series history where a driver led every lap to win the race. To fill out the podium, Kris Wright, driving for Venturini Motorsports, and Tanner Gray, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively. James "Jake" Finch Jr. (born June 16, 2005) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet SS for Hendrick Motorsports. Anniston Air Force Base
Anniston Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force airfield located approximately 10 miles north-northeast of Talladega, Alabama. It was active from 1942 to 1945 and 1949 to 1952. It is currently the site of the Talladega Superspeedway and Talladega Municipal Airport. History Anniston was opened on 19 October 1942 as a flying school as part of Army Air Forces Training Command (AAFTC). The field was built with three hard-surfaced concrete runways. The main runway was 5,300 feet long. The base also featured a parking ramp and one hangar, constructed of wood and metal. Andrés Pérez de Lara González (born April 2, 2005) is a Mexican professional stock car racing driver.
