The 2024 French Open (officially known as the Yonex Internationaux de France de Badminton 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament that took place at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France, from 5 to 10 March 2024 and had a total prize of US$850,000. Tournament The 2024 French Open was the sixth tournament of the 2024 BWF World Tour and was part of the French Open championships, which had been held since 1908. This tournament was organized by the French Badminton Federation with sanction from the BWF. Venue This tournament was held at the Adidas Arena in Paris, France. Point distribution Below is the point distribution table for each phase of the tournament based on the BWF points system for the BWF World Tour Super 750 event. Porte De La Chapelle Arena
The Adidas Arena (also known by its project name Paris Arena II) is a multi-purpose and modular hall located in La Chapelle neighborhood of Paris ( 18th arrondissement). The arena has a capacity of 8,000 seats for sporting events and 9,000 seats for concerts and shows, as well as two gymnasiums which will be for use by local clubs and residents. Under construction since the beginning of March 2020, it was expected to be completed by the spring of 2024 and was inaugurated on 11 February 2024 during the LNB Élite basketball match between Paris and Saint-Quentin, won 87 to 65 by Paris. Usage It was originally intended to host the wrestling events and men's preliminary basketball tournament of the 2024 Summer Olympics, before hosting the Paralympic table tennis tournament. BWF World Tour Super 750
The BWF World Tour is a Badminton World Federation#Grade 2, Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018 BWF World Tour schedule, 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Brian Yang (born 25 November 2001) is a Canadian badminton player. He was a part of the Team Alpha that won the Badminton at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics – Mixed team relay, mixed team relay gold at the Badminton at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career In 2016, he won three gold medals at the U–19 Pan Am Junior Championships, winning the boys' doubles, mixed doubles, and team events. Yang won his first senior international title at 2017 Suriname International in the men's singles. In July, he won the boys' singles and mixed doubles titles at the Pan Am Junior Championships, while the Canada team captured the silver medal. Yang represented Canada in the Badminton at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup, Thomas Cup.
