2024 FIA GT World Cup
The 2024 FIA GT World Cup (formally the Macau GT Cup – FIA GT World Cup) was a Grand tourer, Grand Touring (GT) Sports car racing, sports car race held on the Guia Circuit in Macau on 17 November 2024. It was the seventh Macau Grand Prix, FIA GT World Cup and the fourteenth Group GT3, GT3 car race held in Macau. The Automobile General Association Macau-China, the event's promoter, appointed the motorsports organiser SRO Motorsports Group to form a Glossary of motorsport terms#G, grid. The edition included two races: a 12-lap qualifying race to set the 16-lap main race's starting order. Maro Engel of Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing won the main race after finishing fourth in the previous afternoon's qualification race, won by TORO Racing powered by Rowe Racing, MCG driver Raffaele Marciello. SRO Motorsports Group (formerly the Stéphane Ratel Organisation) is an international sporting organisation best known for promoting and running a variety of racing events and series, including the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, Intercontinental GT Challenge and Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe. Gold Categorisation is a category within the FIA Driver Categorisation. The FIA Drivers' Categorisation is a system created by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile that lists drivers on the basis of their achievements and performances. This categorization is used in sports car racing championships such as FIA World Endurance Championship, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series, etc. It was merged from the FIA WEC and FIA GT3 lists. The initial categorisation is based on the driver's age and their career record. Requirements for Gold Categorisation Driver rankings are revised annually and issued in December. The 2024 Macau Grand Prix (formally the 71st Macau Grand Prix – FIA FR World Cup) was a motor race for Formula Regional cars held on the streets of Macau on 17 November 2024.
