2024 Eskisehir Mosque Stabbing
On August 12, 2024, a mass stabbing attack took place outside of Tepebaşı Cami in Eskisehir, Turkey. The suspect behind the attack has been identified as 18-year-old Arda Küçükyetim. The attack was livestreamed on Kick through a camera attached to the suspect's vest. Five people were stabbed and injured before Küçükyetim was detained by the police, one of these people was hospitalized in serious condition, but has since then recovered. Küçükyetim's trial is set to proceed in Eskişehir's 6th High Criminal Court. He is charged of five counts of attempted murder and creating public panic, if convicted he may face up to 108 years in prison. On December 16, 2024, a Mass shootings in the United States, school shooting occurred at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. Two people were confirmed dead, and six others were injured. The perpetrator, identified as 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow (who went by Samantha), killed herself at the scene. Background Abundant Life Christian School is a private Christian school, Christian K–12 school founded in 1978. The building is located next to the City Church Madison and shares a campus with the Campus for Kids Learning Center, an infant through kindergarten center in addition to the church. Two consecutive mass shootings took place in Christchurch, New Zealand, on 15 March 2019. 2017 Las Vegas Shooting
On October 1, 2017, a mass shooting occurred when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in from his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel. He fired more than 1,000 rounds, killing 60 people and wounding at least 413 others. The ensuing panic brought the total number of injured to approximately 867.
