2024 Doha Diamond League
The 2024 Seashore Group Doha Diamond League was the 26th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Doha, Qatar. Held on 10 May 2024 at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, it was the third leg of the 2024 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. Beginning in 2024, it was sponsored by Seashore Group. The meeting was highlighted by world leads from Kenny Bednarek and Alison Dos Santos, who ran the fastest 400 metres hurdles time set before June of any year. Some non-Diamond League events also served as the West Asian Athletics Championships for 2024. Results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned extra compensation and points which went towards qualifying for the 2024 Diamond League finals. First place earned 8 points, with each step down in place earning one less point than the previous, until no points are awarded in 9th place or lower. Aaron Brown (born 27 May 1992) is a Canadian sprinter who specializes in the 100 and 200 metres. As part of Canada's 4×100 m relay team, he is a two-time Olympic medallist at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, and the 2022 World champion. Brown has also won two World bronze medals as part of Canada's 4×100 m relay teams in 2013 and 2015. Timothy Cheruiyot (born 20 November 1995) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specialising in the 1500 metres. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist in the event. At the World Athletics Championships, Cheruiyot won the silver medal in 2017 in London, and a gold in 2019 in Doha. Brian Komen (born 10 August 1998) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. He was a gold medalist at the 2023 African Games over 1500 metres. Career In April 2024, Komen ran a personal best for 1500 metres in Nairobi of 3:32.29. Ashraf Hussen Osman ( ar, أشرف حسين محمد عثمان; born 2 December 2001), also spelled Ashraf Hussein Osman or Ashrat Hussen Osman, is a Qatari sprinter and hurdler specializing in the 400 metres. , he has won 11 medals at international championships representing Qatar, including 6 in relays and 5 individually.
