2024 Coca-Cola 600
The 2024 Coca-Cola 600 was an NASCAR Cup Series race held on May 26, 2024, at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina and the 65th running of the event. Originally scheduled for 400 laps on the asphalt speedway, the race was shortened to 249 laps due to rain. It was the 14th race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, as well as the second of the four crown jewel races. Christopher Bell won the race, his first Coca-Cola 600 win, and his second of the season. Brad Keselowski finished second, and William Byron finished third. Tyler Reddick and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five, and Ty Gibbs, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, Alex Bowman, and Josh Berry rounded out the top ten. 2024 NASCAR Cup Series
The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series is the 76th season for NASCAR professional stock car racing in the United States and the 53rd season for the modern-era Cup Series. The pre-season started with the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum, Busch Light Clash on February 3 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Clash would then be followed by the Bluegreen Vacations Duel qualifying races on February 15. The season would then officially kick off with the 66th running of the 2024 Daytona 500, Daytona 500 (the first points race of the season) on February 19, both at Daytona International Speedway. The season will end with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 10. William Byron (racing Driver)
William McComas Byron Jr. (born November 29, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports. He won the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship and the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award in the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Ollen Bruton Smith (March 3, 1927 – June 22, 2022) was a promoter and owner/CEO of NASCAR track owner Speedway Motorsports, Inc. He was inducted into NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2016 and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2007. He was billionaire on the Forbes 400 list. Background and personal life Smith was born in Oakboro, North Carolina, and watched his first race as an eight-year-old. He bought his first race car at 17. Joshua W. Berry (born October 22, 1990) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports.
