The 31st ''Billboard'' Latin Music Awards—presented by ''Billboard'' to honor the most popular albums, songs and performers in Latin music—were held in Miami on October 20, 2024. The ceremony was broadcast on Telemundo, Universo and streaming service Peacock. The nominations were announced on September 12, 2024, along with the host city. The Miami Beach Convention Center (originally the Miami Beach Exhibition Hall) is a convention center located in Miami Beach, Florida. Originally opened in 1958, the venue was renovated from 2015-2018 for $620 million. Fuerza Regida is a Mexican American regional Mexican band from San Bernardino, California. Grupo Niche is a salsa group founded in 1978 in Bogotá, Colombia. In 1982, the group settled in the city of Cali, Colombia, enjoying great popularity throughout Latin America. It was founded by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano. Varela remained with the group throughout his life, serving as producer, director, songwriter, vocalist and guiro player.
