2023–24 Segunda Federación
The 2023–24 Segunda Federación season is the third for the Segunda Federación, the fourth-highest level in the Spanish football league system. Ninety teams participated, divided into five groups of eighteen clubs each based on geographical proximity. In each group, the champions automatically promoted to Primera Federación, and the second to fifth placers will play promotion play-offs. The last five teams in each group will be relegated to the Tercera Federación; in addition, the four worst teams classified 13th in their group will contest play-offs to define the last two relegation places. Segunda Federación
Segunda Federación, previously called Segunda RFEF, also officially known as Segunda B, is the fourth tier of the Spanish football league system containing 90 teams divided into five groups. It is administered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. It is the second tier outside the top two professional leagues, the ''Primera División'' (also known as La Liga) and ''Segunda División'' (also known as Segunda División, La Liga 2), being behind ''Primera Federación'' and above ''Tercera Federación''. The division also includes the reserve teams of a number of La Liga and La Liga 2 teams. History On 6 May 2020, the RFEF announced the creation of a new, two-group, 40-team third division called Primera División RFEF, which resulted in the former third division, Segunda División B, dropping down a level and becoming Segunda División RFEF; the changes were made effective for the 2021–22 campaign. Fútbol Club Cartagena B is the reserve team of FC Cartagena, a Spanish football team based in Cartagena, in the autonomous community of Murcia. Founded in 2015, it currently plays in , holding home games at ''Estadio Ciudad Jardín''. Club Deportivo Mensajero is a Spanish football team based in Santa Cruz de la Palma, in the autonomous community of Canary Islands. Founded on 6 January 1922, it plays in , holding home games at '' Nuevo Estadio Silvestre Carrillo'', with a capacity of 6,000 spectators. History Mensajero's history can be traced to 1922 when a group of friends in Santa Cruz de la Palma formed a youth team. Sociedad Deportiva Formentera is a football team based in Sant Francesc Xavier, Formentera in the Balearic Islands. The team plays in .
