The 2023–24 season was the 61st season in the existence of Sportclub Telstar and their 46th consecutive season in the second tier of Dutch football. Telstar also participated in the KNVB Cup. SC Telstar
Sportclub Telstar () is a Dutch professional football club based in the town of Velsen-Zuid, North Holland. The team competes in the Eredivisie, the top tier of the Dutch football league system, following promotion from the Eerste Divisie in the 2024–25 season. The club was founded on 17 July 1963, as a merger between the professional departments of rivals VSV and Stormvogels. The new club was named ''Telstar'', after the then recently launched communications satellite. Telstar plays its home games at the Sportpark Schoonenberg, renamed ''711 Stadion'', for sponsorship reasons. Since its founding in 1963, the football club has used The Tornados' song "Telstar" as the entrance tune for home games. Mitch Apau
Mitch Apau (born 27 April 1990) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right-back for club Spakenburg. Apau began his senior career with Veendam in 2009, remaining at the club until its bankruptcy in 2013. He subsequently joined RKC Waalwijk, before moving abroad in 2014 to sign with Belgian side Westerlo, where he established himself as a regular starter over three seasons. In 2017, he signed with Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia, winning both the Slovenian PrvaLiga and Slovenian Football Cup during his sole campaign. The following year, Apau moved to Slovan Bratislava, where he won back-to-back Slovak Super Liga titles in 2019 and 2020, and featured in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Quinten Van Den Heerik
Quinten van den Heerik (born 18 March 2002) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Terrassa. Career Telstar Van den Heerik was born in Alkmaar, North Holland, and played youth football for amateur clubs Kolping Boys and DEM until the age of 17. In November 2019, he penned a contract with PEC Zwolle that ran until the summer of 2022. Despite signing, he only found himself in the match selection on a few occasions without making his debut. Following the expiration of his contract, he moved to Telstar in 2022 after a successful trial. Yaël Liesdek (born 21 October 2001) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right-back. Career Early years Liesdek played youth football for GeuzenMiddenmeer, UVV Utrecht, Zeeburgia, Alphense Boys, Roda JC, Hollandia, and De Volewijckers. Devon Koswal (born 21 August 2003) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Telstar. Career Dordrecht Koswal came through the ranks at VV Alexandria, Spartaan '20, SBV Excelsior and FC Dordrecht, and made his debut for the senior team, coming on as a substitute for Kürşad Sürmeli in a 1–0 victory over NAC Breda. Mees Kaandorp (born 8 June 1998) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Telstar. Club career AZ Kaandorp was born on 8 June 1998 in Heiloo, Netherlands. He started playing football at local club HSV, before joining AZ's youth academy in 2009. Peter Abraham Guinari (born 2 June 2001) is a Central African professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bulgarian First League club Krumovgrad and the Central African Republic national team. Tom Overtoom
Thomas Overtoom (; born 20 November 1990) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Rijnsburgse Boys. Career Ajax Overtoom grew up in the neighbourhood of Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam, and started his football career in 1998 for SV de Meer, before moving to SV Diemen the following year.
