2023–24 Ranji Trophy
The 2023–24 Ranji Trophy is the 89th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It took place from 5 January to 14 March 2024. Saurashtra were the defending champions, winning their second Ranji Trophy in previous seasons. Format The teams were divided into two categories named as Elite category having 32 teams split into four groups, with Plate category having 6 teams.The Elite group teams played each other once, with the top two teams from each group qualified for the quarter-finals. Ranji Trophy
The Ranji Trophy is a premier domestic first-class cricket championship played in India and organized annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The teams representing regional and state cricket associations participate. BCCI founded the championship in 1934, Since then, it has been organised across various grounds and stadiums in India. Manipur Cricket Team
The Manipur cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Manipur in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Gujarat Cricket Team
The Gujarat cricket team is one of three first-class cricket teams based on the state of Gujarat (the other two being the Baroda cricket team and Saurashtra cricket team). Led by Parthiv Patel, Gujarat won their maiden Ranji Trophy title in the 2016–17 season, beating Mumbai in the final at Indore. The Goa cricket team is first-class cricket team based in Goa, India, has competed in the Ranji Trophy since the 1985–86 season. Playing history Goa lost all five matches in their first season, and did not win until 1996–97, in their 56th match, when they defeated Karnataka by an innings. Goa's best ever performance came in the 2013–14 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where they finished 3rd. They missed out on the finals due to Net Run Rate. Goa fell short by roughly two balls. Chandigarh Cricket Team
Chandigarh cricket team represents the Chandigarh, Union Territory of Chandigarh in Indian domestic cricket competitions. In August 2019, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named them as the last of ten expansion teams, the other nine having been introduced in 2018–19. Uttar Pradesh Cricket Team
The Uttar Pradesh cricket team, formerly United Provinces Cricket Team, is a domestic cricket team which is based in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, run by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association. The team competes in the first-class cricket tournament Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Kerala cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Kerala. It is in the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first class cricket tournament in India. Chhattisgarh Cricket Team
Chhattisgarh cricket team is a cricket team from the state of Chhattisgarh, India. Chhattisgarh began playing in Indian domestic tournaments including the Ranji Trophy from the 2016–17 season. The Bihar cricket team represents the state of Bihar in Indian domestic cricket competitions. It is run by Bihar Cricket Association.
