2023–24 PHF Season
The 2024 PHF season was to be the ninth ice hockey season of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) – known as the National Women's Hockey League during its first six seasons (2015–2021). League business The PHF elected not to hold a draft in 2023. On June 30, 2023, the Premier Hockey Federation announced a sale of the league to the Mark Walter Group. This sale changed the landscape in North American women's professional hockey, as it united the players from the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association and the PHF into a single league. The new league year will start in January 2024. International players At the time of league buy out, the number of international player signings that had been announced for the 2023–24 PHF season had already matched the record 22 signings set in the previous season. Premier Hockey Federation
The Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) was a women's professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from March 2015 until June 2023. The league was established in 2015 as the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), comprising four league-owned teams. Over time, some teams gained independent ownership and the number of teams grew to seven; teams during the league's final season in 2022–23 PHF season, 2022–23 included the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale (PHF), Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps, Montreal Force, and Toronto Six. The Isobel Cup was awarded annually to the league playoff champion. The PHF ceased operations on June 29, 2023, after the league and its Intellectual property, intellectual properties were purchased by Mark Walter Group and BJK Enterprises, led by Mark Walter and Billie Jean King, respectively. Kateřina Mrázová (ice Hockey)
Kateřina Mrázová (born 19 October 1992) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward for the Ottawa Charge of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and a member of the Czech Republic women's national ice hockey team. Known for her stickhandling skill, she was the first European player to win the Clarkson Cup, winning the championship with the Boston Blades in 2013, and the first Czech player to score a goal in the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; renamed PHF in 2021). Playing career Her first season in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) was in 2012–13. She played with the Boston Blades under the direction of head coach Digit Murphy and was used as a defensive forward. Minttu Tuominen
Minnamari "Minttu" Tuominen (; born 26 June 1990) is a Finnish ice hockey player. She plays in the Auroraliiga (called Naisten Liiga until 2024) with Kiekko-Espoo. A member of the Finnish national ice hockey team since 2008, she has earned medals at three Winter Olympic Games and five IIHF Women's World Championships. Playing career Finland Tuominen played for the Espoo Blues Naiset in the Naisten SM-sarja (NSMs; rebranded as Naisten Liiga in 2017) and attended Makelanrinne Sports High School in Helsinki. Susanna Tapani
Susanna Jenni "Suski" Tapani (born 2 March 1993) is a Finnish multi-sport athlete who competes in ice hockey, ringette, and in-line hockey. She plays professional ice hockey for the Boston Fleet of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and is a member of both the Finland women's national ice hockey team, Finnish national ice hockey team and Finland national ringette team, Finnish national ringette team. Noora Räty
Noora Helena Räty (born 29 May 1989) is a Finnish ice hockey goaltender and the goaltending coach of Shenzhen KRS in the Chinese Women's Ice Hockey League. She was a founding board member of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and was a member of the board affiliated with the Minnesota chapter of the organization until signing a Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) contract with the Metropolitan Riveters in May 2023. Regarded as one of the best goaltenders in the world, Räty has won two Olympic bronze medals and has competed in four Olympic Games as a member of the Finnish national ice hockey team, earning All-Star honours at the 2018 tournament. Emma Nuutinen
Emma Nuutinen (born 7 December 1996) is a Finnish ice hockey forward. She plays in the Auroraliiga with Kiekko-Espoo. As a member of the Finnish national ice hockey team, she participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Anna Kilponen
Anna Kilponen (born 16 May 1995) is a Finnish ice hockey defenceman, currently playing in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) with the Ilves Tampere. She played four seasons of college ice hockey in the NCAA Division I, two seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks and two seasons with the Quinnipiac Bobcats.
