2023–24 Formula One Sim Racing World Championship
The 2023–24 Formula One Sim Racing World Championship was an esports competition for Formula One which is the seventh season of the Formula One Esports Series and the first in the series to be named as the "Formula One Sim Racing Championship." It was held on Formula One's official 2023 game, featuring all ten teams from the real-life sport. After being runner-up in the standings for four prior seasons in a row, Frederik Rasmussen of Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing won the Driver's Championship for the first time in his career after a long battle with Thomas Ronhaar and Bari Broumand, the latter of whom helped his team Scuderia Ferrari Esports win the Constructor's Championship for the first time. Lucas Blakeley and McLaren Shadow were the defending champions, but scored no wins at all and dropped to the midfield. Sauber Motorsport AG, currently competing in Formula One as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, and also known simply as Kick Sauber or Sauber, is a Swiss motorsport engineering company. Spielberg (formerly: Spielberg bei Knittelfeld) is a city located in the Bezirk Murtal (district), Murtal in Styria, Austria. The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Austria, Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring (translation: Austrian Circuit) and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from to . It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring (A Eins-Ring), and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from to . When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit () is a motor racing street circuit built in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia. The circuit staged the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on 5 December 2021 as the penultimate race on the Formula One season calendar. Sakhir () is a desert area located in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain, near Zallaq. It contains the Al-Sakhir Palace, built in 1870. The Bahrain International Circuit () is a motorsport venue opened in 2004 and used for drag racing, GP2 Series (now FIA Formula 2 Championship, FIA Formula 2), and the annual Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix. Scuderia AlphaTauri S.p.A, or simply AlphaTauri, was an Italian Formula One racing team and constructor that competed from to . Jarno Opmeer (; born 11 April 2000) is a Dutch esports driver and former racing driver, who competes in the Formula One Esports Series for Red Bull Racing. Opmeer has won a record three Formula One Sim Racing World Championship titles, which he won in 2020, 2021, and 2025. Born in Dordrecht, Opmeer began competitive kart racing at an early age, winning several national titles before graduating to junior formulae in 2016. He finished runner-up to Richard Verschoor in the SMP F4 Championship that year with MP Motorsport, also achieving several podiums in F4 Spanish. He then progressed to the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2017 with MP as part of the Renault Sport Academy, achieving a podium in the Northern European Cup, but was dropped by the team four rounds into the following season.
