2023 ZLM Tour
The 2023 ZLM Tour was the 34th edition of the ZLM Tour cycling stage race. It started on 7 June in Heinkenszand and ended on 11 June in Oosterhout and is part of the 2023 UCI ProSeries. 2023 UCI ProSeries
The 2023 UCI ProSeries is the fourth season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The calendar consists of 57 events, of which 33 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 24 are stage races (2.Pro). There are 49 events in Europe, six in Asia, one in the United States, and one in Argentina. Westkapelle, Netherlands
Westkapelle is a small city in the municipality of Veere on the island Walcheren, in the province Zeeland of the Netherlands. On 1 January 2021, it had a population of 2,632. Westkapelle is on the westernmost tip of Walcheren and is surrounded by the sea on three sides. Westkapelle was a separate municipality from 1816 until 1997, when it was merged with Veere. Second World War On 3 October 1944, the dyke to the south of town was destroyed by British bombersan event still known in Westkapelle simply as "'t Bombardement" ("the Bombardment")to flood the German occupation troops in Walcheren and so make liberation easier. 180 inhabitants were killed in the bombing and the village was all but wiped off the face of the earth by the bombs and the incoming sea. On 1 November 1944, during the Battle of the Scheldt British and Norwegian commandos performed an amphibious landing on the northern and southern edges of the gap made in the dyke. Jakub Mareczko (born 30 April 1994) is an Italian road cyclist of Polish origin, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . A sprinter, Mareczko is seen by the Italian national cycling coach Davide Cassani as one of the best young hopes for Italian cycling. Career Mareczko was born in Poland on 30 April 1994; he moved with his mother to Brescia, Italy, when he was five years old.
