2023 Xiamen Diamond League
The 2023 Xiamen Diamond League was an outdoor track and field meeting in Xiamen, China. Held on 2 September 2023 at Xiamen Egret Stadium, it was the 12th leg of the 2023 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. The meeting marked the Diamond League's first return to China since 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also the first meeting held at the US$1.2 billion Xiamen Egret Stadium. Results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned extra compensation and points which went towards qualifying for the 2023 Diamond League finals. Lamont Marcell Jacobs Jr. (; born 26 September 1994) is an Italian track and field sprinter and former long jumper. Emmanuel Wanyonyi (born 1 August 2004) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specializing in the 800 metres, who won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in this event. With his personal best of 1:41.11 set at the 2024 Lausanne Diamond League, Wanyonyi and Wilson Kipketer are tied for second place in the all-time 800 metre list, behind only Wanyonyi's compatriot David Rudisha, who holds the world record. Alex Haydock-Wilson
Alex Haydock-Wilson (born 28 July 1999) is a British track and field athlete. In 2023, he became British 400 metres champion outdoors, and in 2025 repeated the feat indoors. He achieved two bronze medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics, in the mixed 4 x 400 m relay and the men's 4 x 400 m relay. Early life Haydock-Wilson studied at the Windsor Boys School, before moving in to further education studying Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Loughborough. In 2022, he was awarded a first-class degree and started his PhD in photovoltaic technology. Zandrion Barnes (born 17 August 2001) is a Jamaican track and field athlete who competes over 400 metres. Career Barnes reached final of the 400 metres at the Jamaican national championship in Kingston in 2023.
