2023 U-17 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualification
The 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualification was a men's under-17 association football, football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Players born 1 January 2006 or later were eligible to participate in the competition. A total of twelve teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Algeria national under-17 football team, Algeria who qualified automatically as hosts. Teams Since the 2021 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations was cancelled, this will be the first edition in Africa U-17 Cup of Nations to have expanded to 12 teams instead of eight. Siyabonga Nicolas Mabena (born 18 February 2007) is a South African professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football), forward for Mamelodi Sundowns F.C., Mamelodi Sundowns. Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (; ), officially abbreviated as COSAFA, is an association of the football playing nations in Southern Africa. It is affiliated to CAF. COSAFA organise several tournaments in the Southern African region, and its most renowned tournament is the COSAFA Cup. Executive committee The 2008 annual general assembly saw the election of the new COSAFA Executive Committee. Previously the committee consisted of 14 members; the new committee now consists of seven members: the president, vice-president and five members, as well as the chief operations officer. Omar Sayed Moawad Abdelwahed (; born 1 January 2006) is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a winger for La Liga club Real Betis. Omar joined Real Betis Cantera in January 2025 in permanent transfer coming from Al Ahly. Club career Real Betis Omar spent a trial period with Real Betis from 14 July 2023 to 11 August 2023. Ayman Mohamed Abdelaziz (; born 20 November 1978) is an Egyptian football coach and a former footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for various clubs and the Egypt national team.
