The 2023 Toronto FC season was the 17th season in the history of Toronto FC. The team finished the regular season in last place with a club-record low of 22 points, and thus failed to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs for a third consecutive season. Major League Soccer has a set of emergency goalkeepers who are signed to a contract with the league and are loaned to teams during emergencies in which they are missing a goalkeeper due to injuries or suspensions. Sean Everet Johnson (born May 31, 1989) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Toronto FC and the United States national team. Career College and amateur Johnson grew up in Lilburn, Georgia where he attended Brookwood High School. For a brief period he attended school in California where he played for his high school in Los Angeles County. He would graduate from there in 2005. The MLS Cup Playoffs is the annual postseason elimination tournament of Major League Soccer. The final match of the tournament is the MLS Cup, the league's championship game.
