2023 Super Formula Lights
The 2023 Super Formula Lights Championship was the fourth Super Formula Lights Championship season, after the Japanese Formula 3 Championship was rebranded following the end of the 2019 season. It featured drivers competing in Dallara 320 chassis and with engines made by three different manufacturers, a similar regulation format to the Euroformula Open Championship. Honda junior Iori Kimura won the Drivers' Championship, while his team, B-Max Racing, won the Teams' Championship. His teammate Nobuhiro Imada won the Masters' Class title, while Spiess won the Engine Manufacturer's Championship. Teams and drivers Team changes HELM Motorsport, who made their debut in the championship in 2022, left Super Formula Lights after already missing the final two rounds of 2022. Super Formula Lights
is a national formula racing championship that takes place in Japan. It is a junior-level feeder formula that uses the same single seater chassis as the pan-European Euroformula Open Championship. The series will be the first with the new branding as a feeder series for the Super Formula championship. The nomenclature is similar to that of IndyCar, whose support series also uses the "Lights" moniker. Togo Suganami
is a racing driver from Japan who currently competes in Super GT. Career Formula career Suganami started his first Formula racing in 2017 in F4 Japanese Championship until 2018 season which was his highest standing in 5th with 2 wins and 3 podiums. On 2022, Suganami returned to formula racing at Super Formula Lights with B-Max Racing with Iori Kimura as his teammate. He returns to the series for couple of rounds with the same team where he replaces Nobuhiro Imada, and Takashi Hata for each 1 round respectively. He claimed his first win at Suzuka Circuit, and 2 podiums on that round. 2023 Formula Regional Japanese Championship
The 2023 Formula Regional Japanese Championship was a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held in Japan. The drivers competed in Formula Regional cars that conformed to the FIA Formula Regional regulations for the championship. This was the fourth season of the series, promoted by K2 Planet, and the 45th overall season of an FIA ladder series (dating to the 1979 Japanese Formula 3 Championship). The season started on 1 April at Fuji Speedway and ran over six weekends until 26 November. Sota Ogawa, driving for Bionic Jack Racing, won the Drivers' Championship, while Rn-Sports driver Yoshitsugu Kondo was victorious in the Masters' Class. Roberto Merhi
Roberto Merhi Muntan (born 22 March 1991), is a Spanish racing driver who drove in Formula One for the Manor Marussia F1 Team during the 2015 season. Merhi has also raced in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series for Pons Racing, and won the Formula 3 Euro Series championship, while driving for Prema Powerteam. In 2018, he drove for MP Motorsport and Campos Vexatec Racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Since 2019, he has competed in sportscar racing, including finishing third in the 2019–20 Asian Le Mans Series. FIA Formula 3 Championship
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. Dandelion Racing is a Japanese racing team, mainly running in Super Formula. The team was founded by Kiyoshi Muraoka in 1989 as "Dandelion Racing Project". Kakunoshin Ohta
is a Japanese racing driver who currently competes in Super Formula and Super GT. Career Early career Ohta's single seater career started in 2018 where he competed in F4 Japanese Championship with MYST for only one round. The next season he competed in the same series with Honda Formula Dream Project, where he managed to claim 2 wins and finished 6th in the standings. Masahiko Kondō
or Matchy is a Japanese singer, lyricist, actor, racing car manager and former semi-professional racing driver. He was a member of the Tanokin Trio. Kondō is also a semi-professional racing driver and a racing team owner. He founded the racing team ''Kondo Racing'' in 2000, which currently competes in both Super Formula and Super GT. The Japanese Super Formula Championship is a formula racing series. It is considered as being the top level of single-seater racing in Japan and regional motorsports in Asia. The series is sanctioned by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and managed by Japan Race Promotion (JRP). Kazuto Kotaka
is a racing driver from Japan who currently competes in Super Formula, and Super GT. Career Kotaka made his debut in formula racing in 2015, racing for TOM'S from the second race weekend in the F4 Japanese Championship. He regularly finished in the top 10, with a fourth place finish at the Suzuka International Racing Course as his best result. He finished sixth in the championship with 50 points. In 2016, Kotaka remained active in Japanese Formula 4 with TOM'S. He won two races at Fuji Speedway and another at Sportsland SUGO. He later took another podium finish at Fuji, but achieved erratic results for the remainder of the season. He finished fifth overall with 113 points.
