2023 Spa-Francorchamps Formula 2 Round
The 2023 Spa-Francorchamps Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 28 and 30 July 2023 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium. It was the tenth race of the 2023 Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix. Driver changes Prior to the round at the Spa-Francorchamps, PHM Racing by Charouz announced that Euroformula Open racer Josh Mason had taken over Brad Benavides' seat for the round at Spa-Francorchamps. Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (), frequently referred to as ''Spa'', is a motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, hosting its first Grand Prix in 1925, and has held a Grand Prix every year since 1985 (except 2003 and 2006). Spa also hosts several other international events including the 24 Hours of Spa, the World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. It is also home to the Uniroyal Fun Cup 25 Hours of Spa, one of the longest motor races in the world. The circuit has undergone several redesigns through its history, most extensively in 1979 when the track was modified and shortened from a circuit using public roads to a permanent circuit due to safety concerns with the old circuit. Joshua Mason (born 19 March 2002) is a British racing driver who is currently racing in the Euroformula Open Championship with CryptoTower Racing. He is of Caribbean and Nigerian descent, and grew up between Sussex and the Cayman Islands. Career Karting Mason began competing in karts at the relatively late age of 14, taking part in club racing before moving into car racing. Isack Alexandre Hadjar (born 28 September 2004) is a French-Algerian racing driver who most recently competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for Hitech Grand Prix. He was the 2021 Formula Regional European rookie champion and is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Career Karting Hadjar was born in Paris and started karting in 2015. Richard Verschoor (born 16 December 2000) is a Dutch racing driver set to compete for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport. Zane Maloney (born 2 October 2003) is a Barbadian racing driver. He was the 2019 British F4 champion and finished as runner-up in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, racing for Trident.
