2023 Snooker Shoot Out (2023–24 Season)
The 2023 Snooker Shoot Out (officially the 2023 BetVictor Snooker Shoot Out) was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 6 to 9 December 2023 at the Swansea Arena in Swansea, South Wales. Played under a variation of the standard rules of snooker, with every match contested over a single , the tournament was the ninth ranking event of the snooker season and the fifth of eight events in the 2024 European Series. Sponsored by BetVictor, the event was broadcast by Eurosport and Discovery+ in Europe. Chris Wakelin was the defending champion, having defeated Julien Leclercq 1190 in the previous final, but he lost 4446 in the second round to Joe O'Connor. Shaun Liu, who had turned 13 in July 2023, defeated Ishpreet Singh Chadha 5752 and became the youngest winner of a televised match in a ranking event. BetVictor is an online gambling company headquartered in Gibraltar. Founded in 1946, it offers products such as sports betting and online casino. The company is currently owned by Michael Tabor. Chris Wakelin
Chris Wakelin (born 16 March 1992) is an English professional snooker player from Rugby, Warwickshire. He practices in Bar 8 in Rugby. Career Early career Wakelin started playing snooker aged 8, when his parents Mark and Angie bought him his first mini snooker table, and by the time he was 11 he was successfully playing in the local league. However, his career nearly came to a halt at the age of 17 when he had to start working full-time as an ASDA delivery driver to support himself financially, and only played snooker as a hobby. Bulcsú Révész is a Hungarian snooker player. In February 2024 he won the WSF World Junior Championship, and with it earned a two-year card on the World Snooker Tour starting with 2024–25 snooker season.
