The 2023 Silverstone Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held between 7 and 9 July at the Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone, United Kingdom. It was the sixth round of the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was held in support of the 2023 British Grand Prix. Silverstone Circuit
Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix. The 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was the first race in the newly created World Championship of Drivers. The race rotated between Silverstone, Aintree and Brands Hatch from 1955 to 1986, but settled permanently at the Silverstone track in 1987. The circuit also hosts the British round of the MotoGP series. GB3 Championship
The GB3 Championship is a single seater motorsport series based in the United Kingdom. The championship is the UK's premier single-seater category, and is aimed at young racing drivers moving up from FIA Formula 4 championships or Karting. Having previously been known since 2013 as the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, the championship was renamed the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with the backing of the FIA in March 2016. The championship was rebranded to GB3 Championship in August 2021. Hugh Barter (born 15 September 2005) is an Australian-Japanese racing driver who is currently racing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Campos Racing. He previously competed in both the Spanish F4 and French F4 Championship, finishing runner-up in the 2021 French F4 Championship, the 2022 French F4 Championship and the 2022 F4 Spanish Championship respectively. ART Grand Prix
ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. In 2012, it competed in the GP2 Series and GP3 Series as Lotus GP to reflect sponsorship from British sports and racing car manufacturer Lotus. The team competed as Lotus ART in 2011. Corporate history ART Grand Prix was created in 2005 as a collaborative project between Frédéric Vasseur, the principal of ASM Formule 3, and Nicolas Todt, the son of the then Scuderia Ferrari team principal and eventually Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt. Grégoire Saucy (born 26 December 1999) is a Swiss racing driver and the current champion of the Formula Regional European Championship. Sebastián "Sebas" Montoya Freydell (born 11 April 2005) is a Colombian-American racing driver who is currently competing for Prema Racing in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship and the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Campos Racing. He is the son of Formula One race winner Juan Pablo Montoya. Taylor Barnard (born 1 June 2004) is a British racing driver who is currently racing for Jenzer Motorsport in FIA Formula 3. He is the reigning ADAC Formula 4 runner-up, as well as a protégé of Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg. Career Karting Born in Norwich, Barnard began karting in 2012 at the Trent Valley Kart Club. Hitech Grand Prix (formerly known as Hitech Racing) is a British motor racing team. It was founded in 2002 by Dennis Rushen and David Hayle. Gabriele Minì (born 20 March 2005) is an Italian racing driver who is scheduled to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Hitech Grand Prix. He is the 2020 Italian F4 Champion, and was runner-up during the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship. Career Karting Minì started his karting career in 2012. His first karting title came in the Italian Championship in 2017 in the 60 Mini Class at the age of 12.
