2023 Shanghai Masters (tennis)
The 2023 Rolex Shanghai Masters was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 12th edition of the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000, classified as an ATP Tour Masters 1000 event on the 2023 ATP Tour. It took place at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Shanghai, China from 4 to 15 October 2023. This was the first edition of the Shanghai Masters held since 2019, as the intervening editions were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in China. The ATP 1000 events, also known as ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, are an annual series of nine tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the ATP Tour since its inception in 1990. Benjamin Todd Shelton (born October 9, 2002) is an American professional tennis player. Shelton has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 10 by the ATP, achieved on 16 June 2025. He has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of No. 68 achieved on 20 May 2024.
