The Saudi Cup (Arabic: كأس السعودية) is an international horse race held annually at the end of February at King Abdulaziz Racetrack in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is the richest horse race ever held, with a $20 million purse. It is the main highlight race of the Saudi Cup Night, is a series of eight thoroughbred horse races and one Purebred Arabian race. Ryan Lee Moore (born 18 September 1983) is an English flat racing jockey, who was British flat racing Champion Jockey, Champion Jockey in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Damian Lane (born 6 February 1994) is an Australian jockey based in Victoria. Lane was born in Bunbury in Western Australia to Michael and Vickey Lane, who were both horse trainers. He grew up around horses, and began his career in Western Australia in 2009, and later moved to Victoria. His first Group One winner was Trust In A Gust in the 2014 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield. As of early May 2025, he has ridden 1,589 winners, including 39 in Group One races. Christophe Patrice Lemaire (Japanese:, born 20 May 1979) is a French-born jockey. He has enjoyed much of his success on the Japanese flat racing circuit, with the most wins at Japan Racing Association racetracks for five consecutive years since 2017. Career Lemaire began racing in 1999, after he obtained the license required for a French jockey. From there, he has steadily built up a good track record, becoming the seventh leading jockey in 2003, and winning the French Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris in the same year. Geoglyph (Japanese: ジオグリフ, foaled 25 February 2019) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. He showed promise as a two-year-old in 2021 when he won two of his three races including the Sapporo Nisai Stakes. In the following year he ran second in the Tokinominoru Kinen before winning the Satsuki Sho. Background Geoglyph is a bay colt with a white star bred in Japan by Northern Farm. During his racing career he was trained by Tetsuya Kimura and raced in the black, red and yellow colours of the Northern Farm associate Sunday Racing. João Moreira (born September 26, 1983), is a Brazilian jockey with extensive experience riding in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Japan. In 2017, Andrew Harding of the Hong Kong Jockey Club described him by saying, "You would have to say he was one of Brazil's greatest sporting exports.
