2023 SGP2
The 2023 SGP2 series was the 47th edition of the FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship. It was staged as the SGP2 class of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series after rights holders Discovery Sports Events took over promotional rights of the competition in 2022. The three qualifying rounds were staged at Krsko, Pardubice and Vojens on 20 May. Four qualifiers from each qualifying heat progressed to the main event. Three wildcards were chosen for the main event, in addition to the 12 qualifiers; they were Mathias Pollestad, Anže Grmek and Petr Chlupáč. Poland's Mateusz Cierniak won the title for the second season running, becoming only the fourth rider to win multiple Under-21 World Championship titles after Emil Sayfutdinov, Darcy Ward and Maksym Drabik. Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. Emil Breum
Emil Breum Ankersen (born 16 January 2002) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Breum reached the final of the 2021 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship. In 2022, he won the bronze medal in the Danish U21 Championship. He rides in the Danish Speedway League for Esbjerg Vikings (2022 to 2023) and in the Polish Polish Speedway First League for Poznań (2022). Maurice Brown (speedway Rider)
Squadron leader Maurice Peter Brown (1919–2011) was a World War II Royal Air Force fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain. Brown joined the RAF in 1938, and promoted to the rank of flying officer in October 1940. During the Battle of Britain, Brown flew Spitfires with No. 611 Squadron RAF and No. 41 Squadron RAF. During the battle he claimed 3 and 1 shared destroyed, and one shared 'probable'. Following the Battle of Britain, Brown was a flying instructor at No. 61 OTU Operational Training Unit and Cranwell Flying Training School. He was promoted to flight lieutenant in January 1944 and subsequently to the rank of squadron leader. He was awarded the Air Force Cross in December 1945.
