The 2023 Rally Finland (also known as the Secto Rally Finland 2023) was a motorsport, motor racing event for rallying, rally cars that was held from 3 August to 6 August 2023. It marked the seventy-second running of the Rally Finland, and was the ninth round of the 2023 World Rally Championship, 2023 World Rally Championship-2, World Rally Championship-2 and 2023 World Rally Championship-3, World Rally Championship-3. The event was based in Jyväskylä in Central Finland, and was contested over twenty-two Special stage (rallying), special stages covering a total competitive distance of . The 2023 FIA World Rally Championship was the 51st season of the World Rally Championship, an international rallying series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and WRC Promoter GmbH. Teams and crews competed for the List of World Rally Championship Drivers' champions, World Rally Championships for Drivers, List of World Rally Championship Co-Drivers' champions, Co-drivers and List of World Rally Championship Manufacturers' champions, Manufacturers. World Rally Championship Support Categories
The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is an international rallying series owned and governed by the FIA. Inaugurated in 1973, it is the oldest FIA world championship after Formula One. Each season lasts one calendar year, and typically consists of 13 three- to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 special stages which are run against the clock on up to of closed roads. Separate championship titles are awarded to drivers, co-drivers and manufacturers. The Hyundai World Rally Team is a rally team competing in the World Rally Championship (WRC) as the official Hyundai entrant. Martin Järveoja (; born 18 August 1987) is an Estonian rally co-driver. He is currently teamed with Ott Tänak and is competing for Hyundai Motorsport in the World Rally Championship. Ott Tänak (; born 15 October 1987) is an Estonian rally driver and the 2019 World Rally Champion. A special stage (SS) is a section of closed road at a Race stage, stage rallying event used for timed speed tests. Racers attempt to complete the stage in the shortest time. A race on a special stage is coordinated such that each competing racer begins after a set interval, to reduce the chance of impedance by other competitors. Each special stage is usually between and in length. Some stages may be as long as in length. A Rallying, rally usually comprises approximately 15–30 special stages, over multiple days of an event. The 2023 FIA WRC3 Championship was the tenth season of WRC3, a rallying championship organised and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile as the third-highest tier of international rallying. It was open to privateers and teams using cars complying with Group Rally3 regulations.
