The 2023 RFL 1895 Cup was the fourth playing of the RFL 1895 Cup, a rugby league football competition for clubs in the United Kingdom. As with 2022, the teams entering the competition were those teams in the RFL Championship and RFL League 1 which reached the sixth round of the Challenge Cup. The final was played at Wembley. Semi Final The semi finals were played on the weekend of the 22 and 23 July. It featured the Championship teams that got to the sixth round of the Challenge Cup. Final The final kicked off at 18:00 on 12 August at Wembley Stadium, following the women's and men's challenge cup finals. RFL 1895 Cup
The 1895 Cup is a British rugby league competition for clubs in the Rugby League Championships. History There have been many cup competitions for the lower leagues of rugby league. In 2002 the Championship Cup was founded for Championship and League 1 clubs to compete in along with the Challenge Cup, with the aim to give the lower league clubs a competition they can realistically win. The Championship Cup folded in 2013 in anticipation for the 2015 league restructuring. There was no replacement for Championship clubs, though the League 1 Cup ran from 2015-2017 for teams from that league. In late 2018 a new cup competition, named in honour of the founding of the Northern Union in 1895, was put to the Championship and League 1 clubs. 2023 Women's Challenge Cup Final
The 2023 Women's Challenge Cup Final was the 11th final of the Rugby Football League's Women's Challenge Cup knock-out competition. The 2023 final marked the first time the final of the Women's Challenge Cup had been played at Wembley. The final was a repeat of the 2022 final with defending champions St Helens taking on last season's runners-up Leeds Rhinos. The cup was won by St Helens, who won their third consecutive cup final, defeating Leeds Rhinos 22–8. St Helens captain, Jodie Cunningham was named player of the match. Ryan Lannon (born December 14, 1982) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who last played for Vaasan Sport in the Liiga (Finnish Elite League).
