2023 Players Championship
The 2023 Players Championship was the 50th playing of the Players Championship, having been played at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida from March 9–12. The winner was Scottie Scheffler, who shot a 69 in the final round to finish at 271 (−17) to win his first Players Championship, five strokes ahead of runner-up Tyrrell Hatton. Defending champion Cameron Smith became the first player since 2014 not to defend the title, being one of many players ineligible to compete having been suspended by the PGA Tour after joining LIV Golf. 2022–23 PGA Tour
The 2022–23 PGA Tour is the 108th season of the PGA Tour, and the 56th since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on September 15, 2022. The 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs will begin on August 10, and conclude on August 27, 2023. It is intended that the 2022–23 season will be the final season with the current wraparound format (that started in 2013). The tour plans to return to a traditional calendar-year format starting in 2024. It was the 41st edition at the Stadium Course and concluded on Monday due to weather delays. The purse was increased by a third this year to twenty million dollars. Cameron Smith shot a six-under-par 66 in the final round to finish at 275 (−13) to win his first Players Championship, one stroke ahead of runner-up Anirban Lahiri, the 54-hole leader. Christopher Brandon Kirk (born May 8, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour. He won four tournaments on the PGA Tour between 2011 and 2015. Kim Si-woo ( ko, 김시우; born 28 June 1995), also known as Si Woo Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Mackenzie Hughes (born November 23, 1990) is a Canadian professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Hughes was born in Hamilton, Ontario. He is a graduate of Kent State University. William John Horschel (born December 7, 1986) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Early years and amateur career Horschel was born and raised in Grant, Florida.
