The 2023 Odisha Masters (officially known as Yonex-Sunrise Odisha Masters 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack, Odisha, India from 12 to 17 December 2023. It had a total prize pool of . Tournament The 2023 Odisha Masters was the ninth and final tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour. It was the second edition of the Odisha Masters. The tournament was organized by the Badminton Association of India with sanction from the BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, India. BWF Tour Super 100
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Alex Lanier (born 26 January 2005) is a French badminton player. Career Alex Lanier started playing badminton at the age of 3 and later joined the Dives-sur-Mer badminton club. In 2019, he left the Dives-sur-Mer, to join the club of Strasbourg, to compete in the French interclub division. In 2020, he joined INSEP at the age of only 15. In June 2021, he competed in the Lithuanian International tournament and won his first international title in the final by defeating Canada's player B. R. Sankeerth.
