The 2023 Moscow Victory Day Parade was a military parade held in Red Square, Moscow, Russia, on 9 May 2023, to commemorate Victory Day (9 May), Victory Day which celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of the Eastern Front (World War II), Eastern Front of World War II. The event was scaled down due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine amidst an ICC arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin issued by the International Criminal Court in March 2023. The VPK-7829 Bumerang (russian: Бумеранг, Boomerang) is a modular amphibious wheeled infantry fighting vehicle and armored personnel carrier being developed by Russian Military Industrial Company (MIC) for the Russian army. It is not currently in service with the Russian Ground Forces. History In the early 1990s, the BTR-90 was developed as a replacement for the BTR-80 in the Russian Army. While it was a moderate improvement in armament, protection, mobility, and internal space over its predecessor, it all came at the cost of greatly increased unit price. It wasn't accepted into service (except in small numbers) as the modest increase in performance wasn't seen as enough justification for its cost and complexity. Purchases of the BTR-80 stopped in 2010 and the improved BTR-82 was obtained as a stop-gap measure. The Tigr (russian: Тигр, lit=Tiger) is a Russian 4×4 multipurpose all-terrain infantry mobility vehicle manufactured by Military Industrial Company, first delivered to the Russian Army in 2006. The VPK-3927 Volk (russian: Волк; English: "Wolf") is a Russian 4×4 multipurpose military armoured vehicle, manufactured by Military Industrial Company. The Volk family developed modifying a previous model by Military Industrial Company, the Tigr. History The Volk debuted during the International Forum Engineering Technologies 2010 (IDELF-2010) from 30 June to 4 July 2010 in Zhukovsky, Russia. The first 20 vehicles were delivered in 2022. Volk-produced armoured vehicles with 1.5-ton and 2.5-ton capacities were developed to comply with the needs of the Russian military and police. The T-34 is a Soviet medium tank introduced in 1940. When introduced its 76.2 mm (3 in) tank gun was less powerful than its contemporaries while its 60-degree sloped armour provided good protection against anti-tank weapons.
