The Longford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae an Longfort) or Longford GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Longford. The British Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael na Breataine) or Britain GAA is the only provincial council of the Gaelic Athletic Association outside the island of Ireland (however, the Headquarters of Ulster GAA is also in the UK), and is responsible for Gaelic games in Great Britain. The 2023 National Hurling League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz Hurling League, was the 92nd season of the National Hurling League, an annual hurling competition held in Ireland for county teams. Three English county teams also feature. Waterford were the title holders. It took place between 4 February and 9 April. A captain of a Gaelic games team, sometimes known as a ''skipper'', is a player who, during the course of a match as well as before and after it, has several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of his teammates. Tradition means that some teams rotate the captaincy annually, though others may adopt a permanent captain. The 2017 Lory Meagher Cup was the ninth staging of the Lory Meagher Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2009. 1915 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 1915 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 29th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 25 April 1915 and ended on 24 October 1915. Clare were the defending champions, however, they were defeated in the provincial series.
