2023 LFF I Lyga
The 2023 LFF I Lyga was the 34th season of I Lyga, the second tier association football, football league of Lithuania. The champions (FK TransINVEST, TransINVEST) were promoted to 2024 A Lyga, A Lyga, and also qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League#Second qualifying round, 2024–25 UEFA Conference League second qualifying round by winning the 2023 Lithuanian Football Cup. The runners-up (Be1 NFA) qualified for the 2023 A Lyga#A Lyga play-off, A Lyga play-off. The fourteenth-placed team (FK Panevėžys#Panevėžys B, Panevėžys B) qualified for the #I Lyga play-off, I Lyga play-off, winning to retain their place in the league. The bottom two teams (FK Jonava, Jonava and FK Žalgiris#Žalgiris B, Žalgiris B) were relegated to the 2024 LF II Lyga, alongside Marijampolė City (who withdrew from the league) and FK Riteriai#Riteriai B, Riteriai B (after FK Riteriai, Riteriai were relegated from the 2023 A Lyga.) I Lyga
The LFF Pirma Lyga, TOPsport Pirma Lyga, or Pirma Lyga, is the second tier of professional Lithuanian football championship. Format Organized by the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), I Lyga is contested by 16 teams, with the top team gaining promotion to A Lyga and replaced by the lowest-placed team in top division. The second-placed team qualifies to a promotion play-off with A Lyga's second to last team. Bottom 2 clubs are relegated to the II Lyga, and 3rd last team plays a play-off with the 3rd placed team in II Lyga. The final list of participants often does not correlate to the final results of the previous season, as the participation is finalized through the Lithuanian Football Federation league licensing process. 2024 LF II Lyga
4 (four) is a number, numeral and digit. It is the natural number following 3 and preceding 5. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Evolution of the Hindu-Arabic digit Brahmic numerals represented 1, 2, and 3 with as many lines. 4 was simplified by joining its four lines into a cross that looks like the modern plus sign. FK Ekranas
Panevėžio Ekranas is a Lithuanian football club, from the city of Panevėžys. It won 7 top-tier champion and 5 national cup titles throughout its existence. History The club was founded in 1964 and for 24 years competed in the top tier of Lithuanian football. However, at the end of 2014 season the club ran into financial difficulties, failed to meet admission criteria to A Lyga for the 2015 season and was subsequently declared bankrupt. A new club FK Panevėžys was formed to represent the city of Panevėžys, which managed to pass licensing criteria for the 2015 I Lyga season. FK Ekranas was declared bankrupt in 2016. In 2020 FK Ekranas was restored. They're currently at the 2nd tier of Lithuanian football. Baltijos Futbolo Akademija, BFA is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Vilnius, established as an extension of the youth football academy. History The football academy was established in 2007. The club has been participating in the children and youth championships organized by the Lithuanian Football Federation, as well as international tournaments. 2018 The BFA took part in the LFF II Lyga championship for the first time. Plungė
Plungė (; Samogitian: ''Plongė''; ) is a city in Lithuania with 17,252 inhabitants. Plunge is the capital of the Plungė District Municipality which has 33,251 inhabitants (2022). Two parts of the city are separated by the Babrungas River and two bridges are built over it. Plungė is known for Plungė Manor and its park, where the Samogitian Art Museum is located. FK Banga Gargždai
FK Banga Gargždai is a Lithuanian professional association football, football club from the city of Gargždai. History FK Banga was founded in 1966. During the period from 1966 to 1990, the club was in the Soviet Lithuanian football championship. From 1990, they played in the Lithuanian championship. From 1994 to 2001, they were in the top tier. After the 2001 A Lyga, they were relegated to the I Lyga.
