2023 King Cup Final
The 2023 King Cup Final was the 48th final of the King Cup, Saudi Arabia's main football knock-out competition since its inception in 1957. The final was played at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, on 12 May 2023. The match was contested by Al-Hilal and Al-Wehda. It was Al-Hilal's 18th King Cup final and Al-Wehda's 8th. Al-Hilal defeated Al-Wehda on penalties in the final following a 1–1 draw after extra time to win their 10th title. Teams Venue The King Abdullah Sports City, also known as the Jewel Stadium, was announced as the venue of the final on 27 April 2023. This was the seventh time the King Abdullah Sports City hosted the final following those in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022 and was the fifteenth time it was hosted in Jeddah. 2017 King Cup
The 2017 King Cup, or The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 42nd edition of the King Cup since its establishment in 1957, and the 10th under the current format. It started on 18 January and concluded with the final on 18 May 2017. The winner qualifies for the 2018 AFC Champions League group stage. Al-Hilal won their eighth title after a 3–2 win over defending champions Al-Ahli in the final on 18 May 2017. The winner of the King Cup earns automatic qualification to the 2018 AFC Champions League group stage. However, as Al-Hilal qualified for the AFC Champions League via winning the league, Al-Nassr, the highest placed team in the 2016–17 Saudi Professional League not already qualified took the group stage spot. The 2015 King Cup, or The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 40th season of King Cup since its establishment in 1957, and the 8th under the current edition. Al-Shabab was the defending champion but was eliminated by Al Taawon in quarter-finals. This season's competition featured a total of 32 teams. 14 teams of Pro league, and 16 teams of 1st Division, and 2 teams qualifying from preliminary stage. The 1989 King Cup was the 31st season of knockout competition since its establishment in 1956. Al-Ittihad were the defending champions for this season, but they were eliminated by Al-Nassr in Round of 16. Al Hilal won their sixth title after beating Al Nassr 3–0 in the final.
