2023 India-Pakistan Border Skirmishes
On 24 June 2023, Pakistani side alleged that Indian soldiers fired across the line of control (LoC) in the Sattwal sector of Azad Kashmir at a group of Pakistani Kashmiri shepherds from Tatrinote. Two Pakistani Kashmiris were killed and one critically injured as a result of this incident. It was the first instance of the February 2021 LoC truce being violated. Victims Three casualties were reported by the ISPR; Obaid Qayyum (22), Muhammad Qasim (55), and a third individual who has not been identified yet. They were residents of Tatrinote Village near Hajira. Initially, one shepherd was reported killed while the other two were critically injured but one of the wounded shepherds later succumbed to his injuries. Felani Khatun ( bn, ফেলানী খাতুন) was a 15-year-old Bangladeshi girl who was shot and killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on 7 January 2011, along the India-Bangladesh border. Simla Agreement
The Simla Agreement, also spelled Shimla Agreement, was a peace treaty signed between India and Pakistan on 2 July 1972 in Shimla, the capital city of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It followed the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, which began after India intervened in East Pakistan as an ally of Bengali rebels who were fighting against Pakistani state forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War.
