2023 Guwahati Masters
The 2023 Guwahati Masters (officially known as Yonex-Sunrise Guwahati Masters 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at the Sarju Sarai Indoor Sports Complex, Guwahati, Assam, India from 5 to 10 December 2023. It had a total prize pool of US$100,000. Tournament The 2023 Guwahati Masters was the thirty-fifth tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour and was also the inaugural edition of the Guwahati Masters championships. This tournament was organized by the Badminton Association of India with sanction from the Badminton World Federation, BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at Sarju Sarai Indoor Sports Complex in Guwahati, Assam, India. Guwahati
Guwahati (, ; formerly rendered Gauhati, ) is the biggest city of the Indian state of Assam and also the largest metropolis in northeastern India. Kantaphon Wangcharoen
Kantaphon Wangcharoen ( th, กันตภณ หวังเจริญ; born 18 September 1998) is a Thai badminton player. At the young age, Wangcharoen became the runner-up in the senior tournament 2014 Singapore International in the men's singles event after losing the match because of foot injury. Wangcharoen clinched the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in the boys' singles event, also part of the junior team that won the mixed team bronze in 2014 and 2016, and Asian mixed team bronze in 2016. Wangcharoen was a member of the Thailand national team that won the bronze medals at the 2017, 2019 Southeast Asian Games and 2019 Sudirman Cup. Justin Hoh Shou Wei (; born 1 April 2004) is a Malaysian badminton player. Hoh was ranked first in BWF World Junior Ranking in both boys' singles and boys' doubles on 1 April 2022. Early life Hoh was born in Kuala Lumpur. He started playing badminton at the age of seven. Career 2019 In December, Hoh won the Asian Youth Championships beating Jason Gunawan from Hong Kong in the boys' singles U-17 final. Cheam June Wei
Cheam June Wei (born 23 January 1997) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Career Cheam started playing badminton at aged 8 in Penang. As a junior player, he has been trained by Teh Peng Huat, the former coach of world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei, for more than year before training under task Lim Theam Teow. In 2012, he won the mixed team bronze medal at the Asia Junior Championships in Gimcheon, South Korea. Jason Teh
Jason Teh Jia Heng (; born 25 August 2000) is a Singaporean badminton player. He won a bronze medal for Singapore as part of the team at the 2022 Asia Team Championships, 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well at the 2019, 2021, and the 2023 SEA Games. Early life Teh was born in Penang, Malaysia on 25 August 2000. He started playing badminton when he was four and moved to Singapore to study when he was 11. Alex Lanier (born 26 January 2005) is a French badminton player. Career Alex Lanier started playing badminton at the age of 3 and later joined the Dives-sur-Mer badminton club. In 2019, he left the Dives-sur-Mer, to join the club of Strasbourg, to compete in the French interclub division. In 2020, he joined INSEP at the age of only 15. In June 2021, he competed in the Lithuanian International tournament and won his first international title in the final by defeating Canada's player B. R. Sankeerth. Afterwards, he managed to advance to the final at the Latvia International, but lost to India's Meiraba Luwang Maisnam.
