The 2023 German Open (officially known as the Yonex German Open 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament that took place at the Westenergie Sporthalle in Mülheim, Germany, from 7 to 12 March 2023 and had a total prize pool of $210,000. Tournament The 2023 German Open was the fifth tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour and was part of the German Open championships, which had been held since 1955. The tournament was organized by the German Badminton Association with sanction from the Badminton World Federation. Innogy Sporthalle (formerly known as RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle or RWE-Sporthalle), is an indoor sports arena in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. The arena is commonly used for badminton, boxing, and handball competitions. Its current name is part of partnership with German energy company Innogy, a subsidiary of RWE. BWF World Tour Super 300
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Misha Zilberman
Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Li Shifeng (; born 9 January 2000) is a Chinese badminton player. He started playing badminton when he was 6 years old, getting support from his father. Li then practiced in the Jiangxi team when he was in the elementary school, after that went to the Bayi team. Lakshya Sen (born 16 August 2001) is an Indian badminton player. Sen is a former world junior no. 1. He has won gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event.
