2023 German Figure Skating Championships
The 2023 German Figure Skating Championships () were held on January 5–7, 2023 at the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf in Oberstdorf. Skaters competed in the disciplines of Single skating, men's and women's singles at the senior level and pair skating and ice dance at the senior, junior, and novice levels. Single skating competitions on the junior and novice levels were held on December 16-18, 2022 at the Eissportzentrum Oberstdorf in Oberstdorf. The results of the national championships were among the criteria used to choose the German teams for the Figure skating at the 2023 Winter Universiade, 2023 Winter University Games, 2023 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, 2023 European Figure Skating Championships, 2023 European Championships, 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, 2023 Junior World Championships and 2023 World Figure Skating Championships, 2023 World Championships. 2022–23 Figure Skating Season
The 2022–23 figure skating season began on July 1, 2022, and ended on June 30, 2023. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU (International Skating Union) Championship level at the 2023 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships. They also competed at elite events such as the ISU Challenger Series as well as the Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating at the Grand Prix Final. On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union banned all figure skaters and officials from Russia and Belarus from attending any international competitions following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The season was the first under newly elected ISU President Kim Jae-youl and ISU Vice President for Figure Skating Benoît Lavoie.
